AEM High Output IGBT Smart and Dumb Coils are designed for coil-near-plug use ONLY and are not intended for distributed ignition systems. AEM cannot guarantee or warranty IGBT coil performance when used on distributed ignition vehicles. The coil delivers a minimum 40kV output with no load and 40kV ±10% with a 50pF load. Output energy is 103 mJ ±7%, peak secondary current is 102 mA ±10%, arc duration is 2.9 mS ±10%, and turns ratio is 71:1. Maximum current is 19 amps with a maximum battery voltage of 17 volts. Base dwell is 3.0 mS. Maximum continuous dwell is 9 mS and should not exceed a 40% duty cycle, while maximum intermittent dwell is 80% duty cycle for up to 5 seconds. Uses a Packard/Delphi 12162825 "Pull to Seat" mating connector and Packard/Delphi 12124075 "Pull to Seat" mating contacts. The high-tension wire terminal uses an HEI "spark plug top" style connection.
